I have a Garmin eterx gps.  Great little unit for the money.  I want to get a topo map program to download the route and waypoints.  Any one that has this gps, would appreicate your feed back on what you like and don't like about your mapping program.

Maineturkey,

I have a webpage with info and reviews on topo map software at http://www.jesseshuntingpage.com/toposoftware.html

I've used all of the programs and each has it's own features that are handy. I like Ozie Explorer best because I can get free topo maps off the Internet for anywhere in the USA instead of paying hundreds of dollars for the topo sets from the otehr companies.

I use my Garmin III+ with Ozie Explorer and the uploading and downloading of waypoints and tracks is fast and easy.

I'm using Terrain Navigator from Maptech.com. The topos are 1:24,000 with many user options.  Find a sample that you may download at http://www.maptech.com. Topos are like USCGS 7.5 min quads. I've had good customer service including downloads and patches. I'm satisfied with the software. Using the GPS with this software will add another demension to field activities-hunt,fish,etc.
