My friend and I are wondering who's got the cheapest in price for a guided pig hunt that'll end in a 100% success rate.

Be very wary. Like everything else in life, you get what you pay for.

Talk to Live2hunt, I hear he is as good as a guide on public land.[/b]

I don't quite deserve that kind of reputation. And I'm no guide. I just happened to done lots of homework this year and with some lucks I've been successful on a few trips. My observation is that once some pigs move into an area, they usually stay in the area for 2-3 weeks before moving on. My key to public land success is to keep going until you run into them. Then every time you go within that 2-3 weeks, the likely chances are you will run into them. Oh and don't forget it's still pretty dry everywhere so the area must have water. Good luck.

I will give it a 3rd!! Do your homework on reputable guides and you find the one that is best for you and your needs. As for a 100% success rate... well anyone that will guarantee you that has one tied up out back. You can go on a canned hunt if you want, but for me, and this is just my opinion it is about more than just killing something. It is about the experience. And while I can understand not wanting to come home empty handed after spending your hard earned money, most of the guides found on here will bust their butts to get you on game. They don't want you to go home empty handed, a happy client is a repeat client. Everyone here knows that I prefer RNJ and they have always done a great job. I have no doubt that they would do the same for you that they have done on the many trips I was fortunate enough to go on this year. I have heard nothing but good things about Deedy over at Bryson's. When you go to a heart surgeon, do you want to go to the cheapest or do you want the best one for your condition. The JHO Tejon hunt is another great option. I guess what I am trying to say is buyer beware when it comes to a "cheap guided hunt." Those that aren't keep guys like Larry Hamilton in business. Best of luck and let us know what you decide.

I HIGHLY recommend Pancho Rico Creek Ranch in Monterey county. David Rossi guides hog hunts on his 5,000 acre cattle ranch. It's a family owned operation and an excellent place to place your tag on a pig. If you can shoot a broadside pig at 150 yards, you will bring home the bacon. With that said, there is no such thing as a guarantied hunt. Davids operation is 100%+, most hunters take multiple pigs but on occasion some guys just won't connect. I've taken 1-3 pigs there every rifle hunt and I'm 50% with a bow due to a few bad shots. Good luck!
