The Society for the Conservation of Bighorn Sheep is again asking for help from volunteers on a series of water and habitat improvement projects for desert bighorns in the coming months. Project coordinator Bob Campbell said there will be a Nov. 6 project in the Turtle Mountains to inspect and maintain several springs, a major project where a lot of help is needed Dec. 14-15 at Bonanza Spring to remove arundo, and a Jan. 22 project at Hummingbird Spring for maintenance. Other projects are yet to be scheduled, but volunteers should call Campbell at (760) 244-6392 if they'd like to help out with this important work.
