During hunting or no hunting season is it legal to collect shed or dead skull with antlers in any of the zones in california? Please advice I saw a real nice skull with 4 pts on each side.

thanks!

It isn't in Wisconsin but i guess i don't know what the california laws are. I'd check with your fish and game department or maybe in the california forums....i'm sure someone on here knows

That's crap! As far as picking up sheds goes. If that's true they're gonna have to put in jail to get me to stop shed hunting.

Deadheads are a different story though. Not sure what reg's say about it but I'll find out.

That is crap. I have talked to the warden while I was shed hunting and he asked if we had any luck.

I was at a Sportsmans show last year and asked the DFG Warden there. In California you can shed hunt.
As for the skulls you can keep them as long as there is no soft tissue or brain material attached, can't keep a fresh kill, has to be all dried out and pleanty dead/decayed.

Now you can not take sheds out of State Parks and place like that. The national forest & blm is fine.

In Canada I don't think you can bring them across the boarder?[/b]

You can if you get a "import, export" license............Alot of bs,but worth it....Have to get it in Canada,if your bringing them down to the states.....Plus a simple rule of thumb.Bring them through Sack.,not Manitoba(easier to deal with)......

I carry a buck saw in my car 24/7,if I see a dead buck(roadkill or etc,)its off with his antlers,no matter where I'm at.....Only takes 20 seconds on each antler and your gone..........
