Trying to find other options besides Lake Sonoma to go on a public land hunt! Been hunting Sonoma with no luck, everytime I've been there it looked like a boat parade full of bowhunters out on the water. Any info would be helpful on Indian Valley, Thanks Lurediver!

I have hunted the Indian Valley complex since I was a little kid in the 80's and have had fair results (1 of every 6-7 hunts a hog was caught) with my dogs.

Based on the hellish brush they seem to prefer in this highly-pressured public hunting area that for the most part is wall-to-wall brush, I am of the opinion that you better not come to rely on the Indian Valley area to fill your freezer with pork.

I am by no means saying that it can't be done without dogs. Rather, it is not the first area I would think of if I were wanting to spot and stalk a hog.

I totally agree with Rifleman. The brush is amazingly thick. I explored the area a couple of years ago and haven't been back. Not too good in my book.
