heading towards chico

was wondering if any one knew of any public area to scout for pigs i'm going to magalia ca, i hunt on some small private ranches in santa barbara,but im looking for area up north when we get away from sb any help would be greatly appreciated.thanks

Yeah, no pigs here. I live in Chico. There is some public land a ways out, and I've heard some pigs are there, I've seen sign once in a ton of trips, and none since then. Good luck on finding anything up here. There are a lot of opportunities for turkey around, and in a month and a half I'll be out there darn near everyday! I can hear them suckers in the roost now!

thanks bpn clark and sully jr i drove thru tehama county one time heard there were some pigs around there but i didn't have time to stop and check it out but i am willing to drive a few hours was thinking maybe up around red bluff area? thanks !ig-laughing:

the reasons i couldn't stop is that i had my kids and we were taking themp up to any snowy area sine we don't get to much snow in santa barbara.

You gotta do what you gotta do! Hangin out with your kids is way more important than finding pigs! I can show you where I found that sign, it wasn't much but a little is better than nothing! Send me a PM when you get up here.

sorry sully couldn't send you a pm no computer threre,but i spoke to some people in paradise about hunting c4 zone sounds promising so i'll probably be up there for the deer hunt.

I tried to send you one too. You have to change the settings to send/recieve pms. As far as deer hunting up here, I haven't done it. I prabably will next year, but the timing of the season is rough on me. If you want to go for turkey at all, I have a spot on public land. I only have one season under my belt but had toms within 30 yards 3 times. I can take you out there if youd like. Its the same land I saw the pig sign on, but that was a lot further in.
