Well, I finally got in the right place at the right time this morning. I have been out every morning since last Friday trying to get close to this bird. We played an awesome game of cat and mouse and I know I pressured him too much because the last few days he will not even gobble from the roost. I got between him and his hens this morning and waited. Sure enough along comes Tom big beard and all. Not my biggest but definitely thankful. I know that I will miss watching the woods wake up from now until October.

Stats:

23lbs.
9.5" beard
3/4" spurs

I am thinking about getting him mounted; on a branch gobbling. Thoughts?

Nice bird!

Good job staying after him.

There's always groundhogs to chase until October.

Congrats, I feel your pain. I've been out with my bow. Blew it this moring by not following my game plan.

I like the full strut mount, but my neighbor is a taxidermist. He does a wall mount body mount. Looks cool, tail fanned out, wings out all flat against the wall, then the chest and head out like a shoulder mount deer.

Its real cool and doesn't take up a lot of room

Inchr48, What town you from?? Im a Hoosier too, around Ft. wayne
