Definitely have to have permission before entering private property. If the landowner denies permission, you can contact the DFG and/or the Sherriff's dept. and request assistance.
Well I told you guys I would let you know about the orchard so here it goes. I went out the first day in the heavy rain of Christmas Eve and saw lot's of sign with no pigs, but never the less had a great day with a friend. I spoke to my friend who got me access to the land and he was going out another time and I couldn't go. Well as he got to the property the owner of the property said another guy he let on killed 3 pigs yesterday. Well my partner was excited to hear someone was having some luck.
As he began driving through the property he noticed "lot's" of ATV's driving around through the orchards and soon began hearing shots fired. Well another 3 pigs were taken with one nice size boar. Well congrats to those people who were out there chasing the pigs on there ATV's and I guess I'm shit out of luck for not hunting that way.
I don't know maybe if I had a ATV I would race around and look for animals? When I go hunting the meaning of it is different then that though. I like to walk and enjoy the outdoors or relax and watch animals/bird etc. I am probably just ranting here but these are my two cents.
The other thing I have noticed is if I have a spot really don't talk to anyone about unless you know them cause you never know who is listening or reading. Well good luck to all.
Sorry to hear how it's turned out, with the ATV riders. Do those people have permission to be there? If not, not only should you contact the landowner, but the DFG as well. If I understood you right, and they're shooting game animals from the ATVs, they're breaking more than just tresspass laws.
Also, you posted: <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div>

It's a sad reality, and part of the reason so few people are willing to post up about their "spots". You tell one person, and that person tells one person.... not to mention that on a list like this one, there are a lot more "ears" than there are "voices".
Good luck, and good hunting. Hope the guys on the ATVs get what's coming.
I'm sure these guys have permission and are probably doing the right thing by getting the pigs off the property as they are ruining the ground, but to someone who wants to "hunt" it sucks.
As far as the ears to voices ratio on this site and others it really does suck. I know sometimes when I am reading a post and see the amount of readers in that site and see 2 members and 5 un-registered users some of those are people not logged in, but some are those individuals that just use info and don't put in there two cents.
Going to some public land this weekend that another jho hunter is willing to share with me and I will post results with pictures if they occur, but probably not location.
