help wanted

i want to buy a digital cam for hunting season this year and would like a good one that would last me for a while and that i might be able to use in a game cam later what would you guys suggest and what are some advantages i should look for and where to shop for best price

Gunner - There is a ton of information here on the topic from the past. If you do a search for "digital camera" I'm sure you'll find a few threads with good information. Beware, the digital camera will grow on you quick. With prices low the way they are I would get something with at least 3.3mp resolution and zoom. Regards, Henry

Gunner, WB is correct. There is a tone of info on this that you can probably find in the search engine. As of right now the main digitals that are being used in the game cameras are the Olympus D-370, D-380, and I think the new D-390 is an option also. All of those cameras are 2 mega pixels and under, which is in my opinon not enough for an everday camera. They are more than good enough for game cameras and the photos don't look bad up to about 4x6 but I would not reccomend one for family or hunting photos that you will want to keep forever and even possibly enlarge to 5x7's or 8x10's.

As WB mentioned 3.3 mp is a good place to start now that the prices of digitals is really coming down. If you have an specific questions on certain cameras or about digital cameras in general, feel free to ask. But be sure to check out the search option because there is tons of info that we have already discussed.

I agree with Wildbird and TxCowboy..for a game cam use a olympus 380... I have three out and 4 more to build..takes great photos but you will really need a zoom lense. I'm saving for an olympus 730.
