Someone recently gave me an older Canon Owl AF-7.  It is like the one listed as a possible camera.  Here is my problem.  I put in batteries to test it out, but it does not have a digital readout and does not flash and advance film when I press the shutter button.  I do here a mechanical click inside though.  I don't want to tear it apart and ruin it if it will not work.  Should I put film in the camera to try it out?  I am going to leave it on for a few hours to listen for the click, but I am not sure if this is enough.  If anyone else has any onfo it would be greatly appreciated.

I believe the batteries are fine, but I will put another set ins them.  I guess if I let it on for overnight and it clicks still I should be OK.
