Can someone ID this duck for me? I've never seen one before.

The pictures I took of the males were too under-exposed.

The first is a Ring-necked duck(Aythya collaris)

Second is a Green-winged teal(Anas carolinensis & Anas crecca)

And last is a hen Northern shoveler(Anas clypeata)

Thanks Mike, the green-wing was the duck I wasn't sure of. This year is also the first time I have ever seen a shoveler (wish I would have gotten the exposure's right).

Here's a male, I tried (in vain) to lighten it a little...

One in flight, a little too far away. It was a crappy day for taking pics.

I like the heron photos. I also like the quality with the 1.4x+ 300mm. That may be the combo I end up going with one of these days.

The shovler or also known as the "Spoony and Laughing Mallard" are pretty birds. When I lived in Cali we would see a lot of them, but not so many here in Southern Oklahoma.

By the way Nice pictures. Forgot to mention that in the first post.

I like it, but the heron seems to have a glow. The color looks much better... maybe if the rest of the image had the same color correction.

And thanks Zach, I'm going to go back tomorrow and try to get some better pictures. They were taken at the Montezuma Wildlife Refuge here in up-state NY.
