I've heard alot of older vets say that they'd rather chew their own foot off then eat one more bite of spam...I disagree...I've smelled my feet...

My father spent almost 3 years in the CBI, China, Burma, India theatre of WWII. Two things he detests to this day and will have nothing of, Spam and anything Pakistani or India Indian. He's downright vehement about it. Our joke when he comes to visit are our specialty Curried Spam dishes.

I used to like Spam when I was a kid. Fried with some eggs.
My Mom would cook it when Dad wasn't around. He was a WW2 Vet as well.
The smell would almost make him puke.
But he was a Portagee and would eat the darndest things. Salted Cod. Pigs Feet. And this tomato stew with fish swimming around in it. Liver with onions and bacon. Beef tongue. Sheep brains.
Etc.
But not Spam.

It's all mental I know but my tape worm also detests that stuff. We couldn't carry enough spices to make that stuff palatable. If you ran out of tabasco you were doomed.

Yuck!

I'd explain how they make that crap but someone will puke on their screen. If fried the smell made many nausious.
