I'm frugal enough to take the beating that will come from this posting. Yeah, these guns are cheaper than most. I must say though, they are a lot of fun.
I just mounted the Red Dot that came with the carbine. It's co-witnessed with the iron sights. Hope to burn some of the TULA ammo I found at Wally World. $15-16 per 50 rounds of the 230 gr. FMJ.
Shooting with just the iron sights (rear ghost ring, front covered post), with the 9 in the mag. +1 in the pipe, I could cut a big ragged hole at 25 yards off the rest.
Later adding a light and laser, this may be added to my defense arsenal. With over 100 rounds, no FTF or FTE's with 3 different FMJ ammos. Of course, hollow points will be added and tested as I go. What fun are guns, if you don't shoot them?
I will add that my wife and I have also shot both the Hi Point 9MM and 45ACP pistols, and have never had any issues. They both have shown adequate accuracy at personal defense distances.
