I usually prefer a sharp broadhead, but anything from .270 to 300wm is about primo for hogs.

I generally carry my Savage 110 in 30-06, topped out with a Leupold VXII 3-9x40. Nothing fancy at all, but it sure does the trick (when I do my part).

I use my 7mm Mauser, or a NEF singleshot 12ga. My wife is using my 30-30 Winchester or a Mossberg 20ga pump.
I'm really looking hard at a Rossi .243/20ga youth combo-singleshot for her (because she's small). If only I had money...

Kinda hung up on the bow right now. But, my trusty Rem 700bdl in 30-06 is deadly. Love it. Trust it. My wife shot one dead last month with her Ruger .270. I killed a few with my 7mag. before it blew up. Killed one with a .375mag handgun.

First choice will always be the bow but if I had to use a rifle it would be my trusty 06

got a 7 mag as a multi purpose gun. What is the difference between a 7 mag and a 7 mauser? I talked to a guy who shots mausers at 1000 yard competitions.

Win modle70 in 7WSM topped with a Leupold 3x12 50mm, I really like the light gathering capability of the 50mm objective. most hogs I have shot have been in the fading light of evening.

Well, it is a toss up. I use either my TC Contender pistol in .35 rem or my TC Encore rifle in .308, man I love those guns. If feeling up to it, PSE Mach-8 with Thunderhead 125's.

Indoboar,
Welcome to Jesses hunting and outdoors. I saw your picture of the wild boar you harvested in Indonesia and it is a very nice wild boar.
You will meet here at JHO a lot of very nice folks. Again, welcome and we appreciate your inputs from your part of the world. Oh, I shoot my Tikka .300 WM, BAR .338 WM, Remington 742 .30-'06, Marlin .30-30, Marlin 45-70, Verona semi-auto with 12 gauge slugs, Ruger Redhawk .44 Mag. Actually the hogs don't know the difference if they were smacked with one caliber or the other. 'Nuff said and God Bless.
