Firstly, where you located in the world?

Secondly, how do you want to hunt?

Do a search on this site and you will find more than enough info to get you going. The "wild pig" hunting opportunities in So CA are poor at best. If you want a high percentage of success you will have to go to the counties of San Luis Obispo, San Benito and Monterey. There are plenty of hogs in these counties, in fact do a DFG seach and you can find success rates for all counties.

WorldWide...

Depends on how you define success. Is it a harvest, or just an enjoyable outing?

Your best bet for a harvest is to hook up with one of the central CA guides. I hate to sound like a broken record, but there are a ton of posts in the forum about various guides. Personally, I haven't used any of them, but if you'll scan through the posts you'll see two or three names come up regularly. You can also check out the Guide reviews on the JHO main page (click the Hunting Guide Reviews button at the top of this page).

If you prefer do-it-yourself, but still want a good opportunity of a harvest, the Tejon Ranch offers monthly PORs during part of the season (December through June). For $400, you get two and a half days of hunting for one hog. It's not a bad deal, and the odds of success are reasonably high if you are willing to put in the effort.

For public land hunting, odds of harvest are significantly reduced. However, there is some beautiful country in this state, and simply spending a day or a weekend out there in places like the Los Padres National Forest or Carrizo Plain can be extremely satisfying. If they are open to the public at the time you want to hunt, the military bases, Camp Roberts and Fort Hunter Liggett are probably the most productive public hunting areas.

I could go on, but there's not much to add to some of the info that's already been covered in previous postings.

Good luck!
