I was lucky enough to win a hog hunt offered by another forum. We'll be using dogs and a knife. I plan to go out there in the weekend of 17 March. Always wanted to hunt hogs using dogs but always thought I would use my 44 mag with be bayed one, not a knife. I'm looking forward to this and I'll be sure to post some pictures.

Nothing like answering a bay and walking up on a huge boar. I'd say bring the .44 sidearm and a long knife as well. If the pig is caught and pinned by the dogs walk up and stick him right in his armpit and skewer his heart. If it's a big boy and the dogs can't get him down take a shot but make sure there's no dogs in the way. A lot of times well trained bay dogs can be called back leaving a dog free hog to shoot at. Good luck and have fun!

I am going to carry a pistol either my custom Ruger Redhawk or my custom Ruger Blackhawk.

Best part of the price is it's free since I won the hunt.
