Hog hunting on California public land?

Im looking to get into hog hunting. I was wondering if there were any prospective public lands that are a good place to start in California? Or, where can I get info on public land hog hunting? I live in southern California. Not looking for anyone to give away favorite places, but Im just trying to gather information. Thanks in advance!!!!

Use the search feature of this website. There is more info on public land hog hunting in California on JHO than any other site on the net.

First of all welcome to JHO. Pull up a stump and enjoy yourself. You signed on to the best hunting site on the web. To answer your question , I would second "backcountry's" response. A search will bring up a lot of information on public hog hunting. If your serious about doing some hog hunting I would recommend going on Amazon.com and geting Bob Robb's "Hunting Hogs in California". It takes you through A to Z on hunting hogs here in California. Its a start and will point you in the right direction. Also, you can buy a book called "Hunting Pigs on Public Land". It list 14 different public areas you can hunt from northern california to the central coast. I've seen the book sold at gun shows and hunting expos from a company called "Big Game Maps" out of Golieta. Hope this helps..

Thanks for the responses. I cant wait to get out there and do some hunting. But, I think I am going to have to educate myself alittle more before hitting the trails. Thanks again.
