Hogs at Bitterwater Outfitters

Hi All,
Well, we were not hunting hogs at Bitterwater Outfitters but we saw them!! I was out there with my kid doing a ram hunt and some other hunters had a couple of dandy's. I wish we had more time to hunt hogs as well as the exotic ram. The hogs were wild and on another ranch that the outfitter has access to. I will be headed out there in the next month or two to hunt hogs and I will post about that hunt. I was shocked at how nice the place is and how friendly they are out there. They treated my kid great. The rams are on an enclosure that is well over 1,000 acres and not an easy hunt. We went out in the morning and got fogged in. That is when we saw the hogs on a hillside on the way in. Posted in the exotics form but here is a pic of the ram and my happy kid!!!

Yep he was there. He checked us in and got us settled. We shot the rifle before the hunt to make sure it was on on Saturday then hunted on Sunday. First class operation!!

I was up last year and scored a nice meat hog with bitterwater outfitters. I had several of my clients up hunting with them and two others shot pigs off the parkfield ranch that I did and I also got to tag along and see one of my friends shoot a aoudad sheep on the ranch in San Luis obispo county by the Hearst castle. Pretty cool seeing free range aoudad sheep in California and the Morro rock of the coast from the top of ranch. I talked to Clayton today and he said he has a booth at the Fred hall fishing show this week.

Nice. We just had our big show here in kern county this last weekend. Rumor has it that after 39 years being a local ran show, Fred Hall will be taken over next year. Should make the show even bigger and better.

They put on a good show. I am looking forward to talking with the guys from Bitterwater outfitters about the wild boar hunting this season in the Paso Robles area. I need to get some fresh pork for the freezer.

Hi Jagdman,
met up with the Bitterwater guys at Fred Hall. We are going out there soon for some hogs and a bison if I can save my penny's. I like the fact that I can do a one day hunt and have a great chance at filling my tag. They said they run around 98% on the day hunts.

My daughter and I just got back from a hunt and killed a nice trophy boar with them.
