RIVERSIDE (LoudLabs News) - In the early morning hours of Tuesday, September 17, 2019, wild boars returned to Fairmount Park in downtown. The adults and their babies have done a number on the parks landscape as they root for food. One of the more destructive habits of feral hogs is their rooting behavior. Feral hogs root to obtain food. Rooting breaks up and loosens the surface and near-surface layers of the soil column. Wild boars can be aggressive especially when they are with their young. It is important to remember there is no hunting allowed within the city and anyone caught hunting the wild boar could face fines and or jail time. **Special thanks to Ryan Fugit for the story tip.
