Have you seen bodega's post in blacktail forum? He had seen hogs are as far north as Indian Valley Reservoir.

Is this new or is this old news? I just thought, hogs have migrated North up to Sonoma and a very spotty sightings at that.

Hogs are all the way up to Red Bluff and maybe beyond. I talked with a rancher east of IVR once and they had hogs. This was at least 10 years ago. I've seen old rootings on Cache Creek but not enough to seriously look into.

There have been pigs crawling all over that place for some time and farther north even past Red Bluff!

If there's hogs at Indian Valley Reservoir, they're awfully good at covering their sign.

Look at my post from a few weeks ago for my report on a weekend spent humping all over that God-forsaken place.

Cache creek's supposed to be more promising, but I haven't had the time to thoroughly check it out.
I did spend one day there. I thought I was on to some huge hog tracks, then I realized I was stalking the elk herd down the creek.

I've seen photos and heard stories of pigs taken out of Indian Valley, it seems they like the surrounding private ranches just a little better!

As most of us that have hunted that area would realize, some of the areas around there involve hunting with dogs.

I was as surprised to see them there as anybody. I've heard the rumors, but have hunted there a bunch and never saw anything. So, when I saw those big black boulders working their way across the gully, I said to myself....

Oh, come on, you remember, right? I had just dropped you off at the 12 step program meeting, and I had a few hours to kill--no pun intended. I got lucky an found this hog out in the open and was lucky enough to get a shot

I have a buddy that can roust up a hog at IV almost very trip...with championship dogs though and all the water you can carry...

In the winter & spring, we see hogs on occasion off Hwy 20 near Walker Ridge Road. We saw 50 one day last April.

Sonoma Co is loaded with hogs in certain spots, but prolly 99.99 private...

Hey, I thought this is a brotherhood of hog hunters.

How can you keep secrets like this to us?

SacFire - Nice hog. We like it better that way. Fierce and mean-looking.

I've caught many hogs over the years with my dogs in Indian Valley. That thick brush is only good for dogs and young men, so for those of you wanting to get one via spot and stalk, I say good luck to you...you're gonna need it!

I have heard of hogs in spots of the Yolla Bolly wilderness, Shasta Lake area, all the way up to the Rogue River Canyon of Oregon.

mudhen,

What's your buddy's name?

Hey, My brother and a friend and I have been looking for pig's around Payne's Creek, Hog's lake and Massacre Flat's and it is extremely difficult to find any sign or locate any pig. I always hear that all the pigs are on private property, If anyone has any clue where I might go or if anyone would like to go please give me an e-mail.

I just came back from Grants Pass OR and on the way there I saw a dead hog on the side of the road near Klammeth Falls on I5 just before the bridge.
