Hey Bowhunters, just spent a weekend on an outstanding ranch in Central California for Bowhunters only. They do have a rifle area 6 miles from camp where the riflemen had a 100% success rate. We as bowhunters had 10 guys. 8 got shots off. 6 stuck one and 3 were recovered. One of the 2 that didn't shoot passed up a pig waiting for others to come by. Them pigs are like tanks and can run for days with an arrow right in the briscuit. I have never seen anything like it. In 2 full days of hunting, I saw over 40 pigs come into bow range either on the run or moseying on through. It is $300 for one tag and $375 for 2 if you pay for both up front. I recommend paying for two because once you stick a pig, they make that your pig, period! So if you are like me and can't get up the hill your pig ran up, you are SOL! It was defenitely the best time I have had in years and everyone should try it. It is a 5 hour drive from San Diego but well worth it.

Just outside of Coalinga. I think you have to go through a shop and go as a group. I went through my bowshop down here in San Diego. They take around 8 guys every month. The guys on the ranch said to call when you want to come and they will see if they can squeeze you in or not.

Do you know the price for rifle hunting?  Is it the same, if it is they are by far the cheapest.  What is included in the hunt, food, lodging, cutting, wrapping, field dressing?  Congrats on your pig.

Hogs Wild is listed out on Jesse's main page under Hunting Tips and Info.  The phone number is there, too.  I believe they're more expensive for the rifle hunts, more in line with other guide services.  Give 'em a call, though, and let us know what you find out.

They seem to have a good rep.  Even had a game warden recommend them to me during a hunt near Hollister.

I.ve been there, for bow once and rifle the next. Im going again june 30th(bow). Its 275 for bow and 425 for rifle. Thats just for the pig. if you stay in their "cabin" not really much to it, but its warm and dry (bring a cot), they charge $10 extra a day ,or you can camp for free. if they gut and skin your pig I think they charge another $50. But really If your having problems with either they'll help ya. They have a meat cooler to keep your pig cold. They also have a butcher in town that will usually process the meat over night.
For rifle hunters you really cant go wrong, if you can hit a target good at 100 yards or less you wont have too much of a problem, the guide will get you pretty close.
For bow hunters they have a 600 hundred acre area they drop you off at behind the camp, or you can walk in. most parts are hills, but the milkweed area behind camp is a good spot and pretty flat, the pigs have lots of tunnels in this area so watch the exit points. The bow hunt made me work pretty hard, but it was the best hunt I've ever had. YOU WILL SEE PIGS :smiley-thumbs-up:

Things have changed a little there I think Bohunter. They have a new bunkhouse for the rifle guys. It is $10 a night to sleep in it and they are putting in roll-out beds and 4 bunkbeds. You still have to bring your own food but they provide all the firewood and grills to cook it on. They will start skinning your pig on one leg while you start on the other and they won't charge you anything for it. I recommend a tip for them though. They appreciate that. I agree with Bohunter on it being the best hunt ever. You will defenitely get a shot at one and all the rifle hunters tagged out when I was there. Start exercising now if you are going bowhunting.
