well fellas I went on my first pig hunt.  It was a guided hunt out of san alto.  The ranch was called mustang ranch.  We left saturday afternoon and hunted sat. evening, didn't see a single thing except for a couple of does.  sun.  morning got out into the field and set up at about 5:00.  we chased a group of pigs up a cliff but they were down the other side before we could catch them.  we waited at the top of the ridge for a while and i saw two small sows; to small to shoot.  My buddy that I went with shot a sow right in front of me only to find out that it had a broken front leg and had been shot about a month ago in  his ass.  we found this out when we got it back to camp skined it and found that the whole back end of the pig had gang green.  The guide was nice enough not to charge him because he couldn't take the pig to eat it. My buddies dad also got a bore that weighed about 100 lbs.  As for me I never got a shot.  the only thing I saw and had a chance to shoot was a 50 sow.  i was extremely dissapointed and so were my friends who had been on guided hunts before.  so since I came home with no pig and money still in my pocket I'm going to book another hunt this saturday in bakersfield with mike berry.  Had a blast just no pigs.  Hope I have a better hunt this weekend.

At least you can brag that you went to the Mustang Ranch and had a chance at a few sow's and still came home with money in your pocket.
Better luck next weekend

Colby If you got something every time you went it wouldnt be a challenge. When you do get one it will be that much better. Sometimes I pass on animals when I am looking for a certain one. Better luck next time.              Fubar

Next time try Boaring Experiences in Parkfield.  They run a good outfit and a high success rate.  Take a look at their website, www.boaring.com.

Mike Berry is partners with Bill Williams I believe they have a "ranch" east of bakersfield up in the greenhorn mtns. Hunt goats, sheep, bear, bobcats & deer. There are pigs up there but not the easiest to find.
