Did anyone see the special the other day on National Geographic about Hogzilla? This was the hog whose picture has become famous that was shot in the Florida everglades. The shooter claimed the hog was over 1000 lbs., and 12 feet long. They dug up the carcass of the hog and compared the hair and dna to all known domestic breeds as well as wild. The teeth were in a complete circle. The experts estimated the hog weighed more like 800-900 lbs. and was only a little over 8 feet long. Still a tremendous hog. For all the people who say hogs can't get that big in the wild, the dna tests and measurements of the skull proved that it was mostly wild with a little hampshire domestic mixed in. What a hog.
