I've been to Laguna a few times now with no luck (only thing I keep coming away with is poison oak). From the parking/camping area, I usually take the fire road up and around and then drop into the canyon. Is there a better location than this? I've seen plenty of tracks, but not a single animal.

The attached picture is a panoramic of the area from the fire road.

On the last trip, I found a fair amount of sign up on the ridge at the end of the road (it does a big loop). Of course I found this in the late morning of the last day before heading back home...

The best time to hunt this area is late spring time and just before June. The general area is bordering the west side near private property. There is a small creek in the area, follow the trail south. You will need to walk quite a ways in (at least two hours) and will lose sight of the creek. There is a lardge wallowing hole that fills with water after the winter months, and the pigs love this area. Another tip during the late springs is to look for crows.....yes crows.....they follow the pigs as they root up grubs....the crows swoop down to pick up the left overs....funny but this works almost all the time.
