Here are a few letter openers I made. They were all made with scrap wood from recurve bows.

Handle is from a Montana Longbow Blade is Rosewood.

Handle is Zebra Wood - Elephant Ivory Spacer - Blade is Rosewood.

Handle is Amboyna (got it from Lamar Williams) Blade is Rosewood.

This is also Zebra wood and Rosewood.

Those are spectacular AH.

Can you give us a quick run down of the process of making them. Lots of sanding??

Very nice work Arrowhead; I'm impressed. But what about your four buddies wondering what the Heck happened to their bows?!?!

Thanks guys.

Yes they are a lot of sanding. Next time I do one I will take pictures along the way.

Basically take the two blocks of wood drill a hole into the ceter of one of each end. epoxy a drywall screw (head cut off) into one end. After it sets up add spacer (with epoxy) and screw into hole on other piece (with epoxy).

One that sets up start sanding. Belt sander to rough in the hand sand.

All I can say are no two are alike. Not sure if that is good or bad.

Belch>> couple months till bow season, I'll be long gone by then.
