The best thing you can do to prevent this in a tent or trailer or anywhere is buy a CO detector and take it with you when you camp or travel. $40 can save you and your family's life.

The other thing to do is check your camp trailer heater every year for good operation. Make sure and check the exhaust, I had a bird build a nest in my exhaust screen one year that plugged it up.

Tent Heaters

Is this the same type of thing as those Coleman Tent Heaters? My buddy has one and we've used it for camping. I would think the fire danger would be just as prevalent. My sleeping bag ended up touching it and it burned a hole. I would think a tent would go up like a dry Christmas tree.

I don't think I'll use one again. Not waking up would make for a bad day...
