How much will temperature and elevation affect POI?

Went to check the zero yesterday on my 7MM RM before I take it out in the field and it was about 3" low. No big deal I moved the elevation the proper amount of clicks and after one adjustment it was back on. First I figured that maybe it was off from bouncing around in the truck for awhile but then wondered if the change in elevation and temperature could effect velocities enough to cause a 3" drop at 100 yards? Yesterday was shooting close to 8000' and probably around 50 degrees, an increase in elevation around 5500 and decrease in temp by about 40 degrees. I still think something probably got bumped out a little because 3" seems like a lot of change for a 7MM RM at a 100 yards.

Ditto. No.

Something is either loose, or you have a scope that is shifting zero due to the shock of transportation or recoil.

Rifle? Scope? Mount?
