Humming Bird

Here is a male Anna's hummingbird (calypte anna) that I found in the back yard. The poor guy obviously hit one of the windows and broke his neck and lower beak.

The Anna's stay around our house year-round. They are fun to watch and occassionally hover within two feet of me when I am out in the garden.

Very colorful bird. Too bad it had an accident. See a lot of ruby throated hummingbirds here late spring and into the summer. Those little boogers are alot of fun to try to shoot.

I have a few Hummingbirds also.

I go through about 3 pounds of sugar a day.

I get upwards to 60 at a time.

I feed about 300 or 400.

They are just starting to come back but some older ones stay all year.
