Assuming you're talkig about the group of jeeps that are always in the first campgroup, and being part of that group, I can tell you that just because we have all the jeeps tricked out doesn't mean we ONLY drive the roads. All of us get out and do are fair share of hoofing it on the hills. Each area we go to has it's own's tactics that we use to hunt the area. Be it from driving in parking, and hiking all morning, to driving from spot to spot and checking out each individual canyon, to just relaxing and driving through out the morning/afternoon.

Just because the jeeps are tricked out with raised seats, etc, doesn't mean that we just road hunt. We have not been as successful as we have been over the years by just driving the roads.

I too had a tricked out jeep with a raised up back seat and even have a seat for my truck but like you, i get out and hump it now a days. With all the pressure now liggett has sure changed when i used to go as a kid 14+ years ago and you know as well as i do Calijeep, that now that means different tactics......

(I captured the buffalo & ID the wild cattle) so I know the base piggies pretty good.[/b]
Too bad....I was hoping for a bison hunt.

And just to clarify myself Deedy.....I wasn't implying you were doing anything wrong or the tour wasn't worth it. I was just curious as to how you went about it.
Off topic---Do you still have that Catahoula/Plott pup, and if so, does it ever open on track?
[/b][/quote]

The tours...
No, I knew what you were asking. It's all good. I think I'm at 50%+ success rate on putting hunters on pigs at FHL that way- it works out pretty good- you can check all the trails and then check into your area with a game plan after you scout.

As far as the buffalo,
I was hoping to talk them into letting us do guided hunts for the buffalo too- hey, I tried. No dice. FHL didn't want any trouble from the politics of it all- so I contracted to take them alive (if possible) and deliver them back to the original owners. Almost had to shoot one of them, but the wildest cow decided to co-operate at the last second- so it went well.
Here they are swimming- I'm thinking to myself- Ok, now this might be a challenge- remember... I have to take them alive. That means my typical methods of capture... tranqualizer guns, horses, dogs & 4 wheelers are probably not an option at this point. Scuba gear? Pretty funny. They were a little wild. This was at about 1500 yards, they didn't like me very much.

The pups,
Neither one of them worked- I wouldn't recommend the guy I got them from as a breeder. Since then I bred my good Cat/Plott (not related to the pups I bought at all) dog Reno to my daughter's little athletic pitt (both proven & smart dogs)- we have 8 pups on the ground - we'll see what they do. - I'm hoping they act like their dad- he's a strike dog deluxe. The pup's might have a little more bite than their dad, but should strike- I'm hoping for "pig radar" like Reno's got.
I absolutely love Reno, he is a striking, baying, hunting machine. Smart about it too.

Ok guys- go back to your jeeps....Calijeep - I'll see you very soon!
Deedy

No, they're in the back of the campground. My group is up at the front, basically the campground closest to the skinning station, with lots of jeeps, lol. But the Tidwells don't only drive the roads either. They're not as successful as they are by just driving roads.
