Hey guys! My wife's best friend was recently transferred to FE Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming. She is dying to take a trip to go visit her friend. I am dying to hunt deer, elk, antelope, turkey.
What kind of hunting opportunities are in the area around there for a non-resident? What about snow skiing opportunities too??
Thanks for any ideas.

You should be able to find lots of opportunity to combine either hunting or skiing vacation with a visit to Cheyenne. Lots of the Colorado Ski areas are within a days drive. Steamboat would probably be the closest but some of the other areas in Northern Colorado are close too. I went to school in Laramie just 45 Min from Cheyenne we went to Steamboat for the day sometimes, but folks out west are use to a little longer drives.

Hunting opportunities are good too. For big game Cheyenne has lots of antelope and mule deer around the area. There are some elk in the snowy range just north of Cheyenne but tags are tougher to draw. The hunting application deadline has already past for this year but if your still interested in this year you may be able to pickup a leftover antelope tag or maybe a doe deer tag. The list will come out in early to mid July.

Feel free to e-mail me. I probably don't know too many places to hunt but I know the regs and how to get a tag.
