Open it to hunting. Anything with a value will be protected.

Wildlife has exactly Zero value in Kenya which is why they cannot afford to protect it. If there is any doubt about this why is Kenya the only country now in such die straights over their Elephant herds?

RSA, Zim Zam, Bots etc etc. all allow hunting and have increasing herd sizes! Heck RSA is culling elephants because they have too many!

Mr. Hack, you couldn't be more dead on with that answer. Once you associate all of the game species in Kenya with a positive value, things will begin to change. Take a look at what is happening with the Cheetah in RSA for example. Not very long ago, the cheetah had a negative value associated with it, because it was killing game that hunters would pay to hunt or photographers would pay to photograph. So the solution of many ranchers was to kill the cheetah. Now, ranchers and outfitters have found that it is far more of a benefit to both the humans and the cheetahs if they associate the cheetah with a positive value. By capturing/breeding/selling cheetahs they are not only preventing the loss of any more cats, but they are also protecting their own investments as well. Interesting subject.
