Hunting information requested

I am from Michigan and I am going to north central Missouri this year with a couple of buddies. We are going to hunt the middle of October and none of us have ever hunted this far south nor in Missouri. Wondering what to expect weather wise and what to watch out for? Snakes and other types of critters. What class of deer can we expect to see?

Any info is greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't worry about snakes; the chances of seeing one would be rare. Mid October in Central Missouri is just a few weeks early before the rut starts. The end of October and first two weeks of November are the best for the rut.

As far as the weather goes...bring tee shirts, heavy coats, light jackets & rain coats. It could be sunny with the highs in the 60's - 70's or light mist, windy and temps in the 30's.

As far as the class of deer, Missouri has it's fair share of small bucks and does but there is always a chance of seeing a record book buck on any given day.
