I found out I drew the Elk tag I wanted.

I drew a late season Cow tag in GMU 441 so now I have something to do in December


Come on deer and antelope !!!! Daddy's feeling lucky !!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS! I heard another guy (you know who) told me he also drew his tag. The DOW estimated posting results on elk day after tomorrow, so I figger you got the notice in the mail. I haven't heard squat yet........uh-oh...........maybe no statewide cow muzzleloader this year.......

After I saw COHunter's post I checked the CO DOW website to see if I had been drawn. Elk results are due up on June 3, with deer on June 4. There was a press release stating that CO had authorized a record number of cow elk tags this year with unlimited 4th seaton tags for several units including GMU 441. That may be why COHunter got his notification already. I still have my fingers crossed for my cow tag.

I called the D.O.W. and they told me. They wont have the results posted on their website until Thursday.

My tag is a R.F.W. tag in mid-December on their winter range. I will also have the option of getting 2nd tag for the ranch if I can find the freezer space.

If you just cant wait, you can call 303-297-1192 option 5 and they will tell you

Congrats. Sounds like a good start. Hey, did your nephew ever mention getting a box of huntin' mags, powerbars, and stuff when he was overseas? Just curious.

Where you located in CO? My uncle lives in Crawford, right above the Crawford resivor. I love that little town. The resivor is right across the street from his house. I think also has a house in Hotchkiss and goes back a forth, for some reason. I use to hunt there many years ago, I need to try and get back over there.

They are my brother Inlaws, and yes they recieved packages and were very grateful. They didn't tell me who they were from, only that they were from Jesses Hunting Site, I guess a bunch of guys here sent them packages

Thanks for the gouge on the phone number and option to choose for getting the drawing results. I called this morning and found out I got drawn for first combined rifle season for both cow elk and buck mule deer in GMU 551. Can't wait to get out there this fall.

Congrats on a great area !!! 551 is definately on my list to hunt one year. I've seen some really "BIG" deer in that area. Last year my buddy took a nice 6X7 Bull Elk from there too.

Whoops, guess I mis-typed. I meant to say GMU 511. My brother in law and I are going to hunt the Pike National Forest out of the Air Force Academy's Farish Recreation Center. I don't think it is as good as 551, but should be decent for cow elk and maybe a bonus deer. Any local info on this GMU? Thanks in advance.

Got some GREAT news this morning! Drew a statewide cow Elk Muzzleloader tag AND a zone 15/35/36 Deer Muzzleloader tag!!!!!!!!!!! I'm PUMPED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now for the hard part...........getting in better shape so I have half a chance of fillin the tags.......

Jeff........as far as when I might be comin out there........somewhere near the end of June to the middle of July. I have to fly to Dayton Ohio on business and was thinkin of doing a one night stayover in Denver to say hi to da King and Cooter, maybe you too if you don't mind a drive......I'll try to work it for the end of the week, but I won't know exactly what day until later on this month.......

I'll be back in Co the first week of July, maybe 2 depends. This time COHunter, I'll look you up. I'm still working on getting that job back there, might have to resort to Denver. I'm having some tree work done on my property and I have to come back to check on the work.

I also got drawn for 2nd rifle Elk GMU 5, So I'll be there in Oct( hopefully as a resident then!)
