Saw way too many of these last year in Central Idaho. This pic was taken in Sept, during the archery season. They are now not only in Idaho, Wyo, and Montana, but in Washington, Oregon, and Utah and will be in Colorado soon also. Man if you think Elk are hard to hunt w/out Wolves around, just wait till your spot gets a pack.
I don't think they are fair game in CO. They are federally protected I believe. The only thing that will be fair game is Colorado's Elk Herd. Like I said even if they don't decimate the herd(which would be hard to do) they sure make those elk alot tougher to hunt.
So long to rid of them and so quickly do they take hold and reign supreme again.
For every environmentalist who will eventually see a wolf, how many hunter/rancher spottings, lost wildlife and livestock will there be? I'm sure it's highly disproportional in favor of the whacko's.
