Last pig hunt was a successful 2 pig harvest and it was anything but uneventful. After covering several miles it was about high noon when i heard a rifle report and thewolfman (TWM) nailed his decent size pig. TWM was about 1.5 miles from my location and a quick radio check confirmed that he made the harvest, so i hustled over to his location to find him finishing the gutting job. The remaining pigs boogied up canyon so TWM and i trailed them; after 2 hours we stopped to reassess it wasn't but a moment when we were surprised buy the crashing of brush, deep guttural grunts when this pi$$ed off pig rushed us, we were in thick brush where they bed and it was sort of like those pig tunnels we know of; that pig came within our discomfort zone real fast but thankfully our reactions were sharp and we dropped it with 2 Winchester Razor Back XT,180 grain 30.06 rounds-deal sealed. We talked of that experience many times over as if we were doing an after action review; not only did we return with meat but lessons learned and we both agreed that it was a close call. Later dudes and happy trails to all.:hog chewing:
