What exactly are FRS and HAM radios?  How are they different than a CB?  More range, different stlye, different frequency?  Any general info would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

In a nutshell:

FRS and HAM radios operate on FM frequencies.  CB radios operate on AM frequencies.

Max power for FRS is 2 watt output (short range).  Max power for HAM depends on license, frequency (meter band) and unit power, can be up to 100 watt.  Max power for CB is 5 watt output.

FRS and CB are line-of-sight signal.  HAM is line-of-sight, but can be fed through repeaters/nets to travel long distances or even patch into voice phone lines.

FRS and HAM frequencies can have carrier tones to block other users (add privacy) between FRS units or limit public access to HAM repeaters.
