Waterfowl hunters who wish to hunt Meredosia Bay, off the Illinois River in Cass County and Morgan Counties, may draw for blinds at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 28, at the USFWS Building at 2227 Beach Road. Registration begins at noon. To participate in the drawing hunters must be at least 16 years old, must possess a 2001 or 2002 hunting license, a 2001 or 2002 Illinois waterfowl stamp (unless exempt by age or disability), and a current Firearm Owner's Identification (FOID) card or a FOID card that has expired within the last year. Hunters between the ages 16-21 may participate without a FOID card if they are accompanied by an adult with an acceptable FOID card. A public drawing will be held on Sunday, July 14 for waterfowl blinds at the Mississippi River Fish & Wildlife Area that were not taken or registered after the June 2 blind drawing. Registration is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the drawing immediately following at the Mississippi River Area headquarters, located on Route 100 at Rosedale.
