After finally getting settled in my house and getting my computer all set up, I finally went to download all my photos since my move to Colorado. Well, I plug in my CF card and wait for the prompt to start the download process. I wait, wait, wait, wait.....

Finally after about 5 min, I get impatient and pull up "my computer" to find the drive and see what gives. That is when the horror starts to get real. I can't see the drive. I see the card reader is on, but no CF card. Ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

I stop the drive and pull the CF card, put it back in the camera. No error yet, I push the play button.......No Pictures!! Nothing at all. I push the shutter half way, camera goes back into shooting mode. I push all the way........NOTHING!!!!!

I pull the CF, put it back in. Repeat of previous situation. My heart is sinking. It's a 4GB card and I have all the pictures on it for 2 months, what am I going to do? This really sucks!!

I'm going to contact Seagate and see if they can recover the data.

Stay tuned for the rest of the story....

(If anyone has any recommendations of other places to use for data recovery, please feel free to share.
Thanks,
Zach

It's a hard lesson to learn: Real men do not take backups - but they cry a lot.

It's flash memory, it's a consumer device, it's volatile - 4GB is a blessing and a curse.

Sorry,

Thanks Paul. I tried both but no luck. I think it's internal in the microdrive itself. I can hear a clicking noise. We'll see what SeaGate says.
