I was wondering if anyone has hunted aroun the indian valley reservoir area and how they did. Just started to get back into hunting and was told this was a decent place for hogs on public land. Any info on this place or any other place would be great. I live in sacramento and cant afford a private hunt. Any info thank you.

I hit IVR a few years back and wasn't too impressed. As I recall the SE area was ok but the NE area was almost impenetrable.

Yo, Daydream and welcome back into the hunting life. I have hunted all over Indian valley and have never been able to get a shot. The brush is so thick it is almost imposable to get into them. I have seen them and herd them at night, so I know they are there. I have herd the use of dogs is the key. I dont have a dog and dont hunt that way so I cant help you there. I am shure at times they are out and about and being at the right place at the right time helps. Good luck it is fun just to hunt and hike in that area. Buck

I've hunted it with Arrowslinger and unless you have dogs and a boat forget about it! Thick, Thick Brush and tuff terrain make this area a nightmare to hunt. Unless you're in a boat there is not very much visibility when you are hiking around. Tones of deer and a few mountain lion tracks but thats about it!
