AGFD
Arizona Game and Fish Department law enforcement officials are looking for information regarding the poaching of a bull elk just south of Flagstaff.
The elk was found north of Fort Tuthill near Forest Service Road 532 and the Mountain Dells community. The Westside urban trail is also near the site. Game and Fish Department officials received information about the elk on Aug. 1 and suspect it was shot either late Thursday evening (July 31) or early Friday (Aug. 1) with a small caliber weapon.
"The department appreciates getting help from members of the public and usually members of the public are our best source of information," said Steve Andrews, law enforcement program manager for the department. "Members of the public can provide crucial information in cases like this."
A $350 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the individual or individuals responsible for the illegal take.
Anyone with information can call Operation Game Thief at (800) 352-0700
