THAT REALLY SUCKS. THAT POOR DEER REALLY SUFFERED. TOO BAD ALOT OF GUYS WONT SLOW DOWN AND WAIT FOR BETTER SHOTS. COULD HAVE ALSO BEEN THE RESULT OF A SHOT THAT WAS TOO FAR OUT.

It is a shame, but don't be so quick to judge the poor schmuck that didn't find this deer. Anybody that has hunted much has taken a shot that they could improve on. It's amazing the amount of deflection you can get with the smallest of branches in your way - whether it's with a gun or a bow.

I agree with some of you guys on this and also would of said the same thing about making sure you have a good shot before you launch that arrow until it happend to me last year.Had this buck quartering towards me when i shot and he ducked the shot on his way out of the area but i got extremley lucky and connected on a fatal shot.unfortunatley sometimes things just dont go as planned when bowhunting!!!!

TRUE NOT EVERYTHING GOES AS PLANNED. I WAS JUST THINKING OF A GUY I TALKED TO RECENTLY ABOUT FLOCK SHOOTING AT DEER. HIS POINT WAS THAT EVERYONE TAKES A HAIL MARY OR FLOCK SHOOTS ONCE IN A WHILE. I TOLD HIM THAT I NEVER HAVE. I HAVE HUNTED ALL MY LIFE AND I HAVE HAD A BAD SHOT BUT I AM NEVER RECKLESS.
GOOD POINT HOWEVER THAT IT COULD HAVE BEEN A DEFLECTED SHOT OR OTHERWISE.

JDR, HOW FAR DID YOUR BUCK GO? I WOULDNT IMAGINE VERY FAR?

I know a fellow shooting a recurve that had the classic 20yd broadside shot at a doe feeding on a field, from a groundblind just inside the woodline. At the shot, the doe swung her head around, and caught the Razorback 5 right between the peepers. She dropped in a heap. It is a unique trophy, he left the old "autumn orange" Easton shaft and razorback embedded in the skull and had the beetle treatment done. He had it displayed at the local archery shop for while, drew lots of looks. It was about 2mm from being dead center between the eyes. I will see if I can track him down and get a picture.

That is a pretty unique find. To bad the buck had to die that way rather than a clean shot.
