After seeing some of the roadwork around here, I'd say it's real.........

I am going to go with real. Not the brightest stars in the sky on that road crew.

Looks real to me. And not surprising. If I was driving the striping truck, I prob'ly wouldn't stop to kick it off the line. Who gives a tree rat's a$$ ennyhoo? I'd say road crews are practical folks. That kind of energy conservation is an acquired skill.

Kind of reminds me of this one...

Don't know if that one's real either but it's been around for years...

Why isn't the yellow on the squirrel as wide as the stripe on the street?

Cuz the spray pattern is angled (inverted V), and top of the squirrel is higher than the road.

Can't say I blame them for not getting out and moving the critters with cars zooming around from both direction.

not real on any of my jobs. all the contractors i work with use a fast go kart to zip ahead to make marks, install buttons and just clean up.

i think the squirrels is staged. the last step of that process, the machine will dump a bunch of glass beads down. gives the strips the reflective look. it is a mess. the machine overpours the beads. there would be "bead dunes" up on that squirrel.
