So I don't leave the wrong impression, I should add that all of TW hunts are on leased ranches that are NOT high fence and I doubt he scouts out the areas just of any particular hunt. IMHO, his effiency is due to his vast experience and the fact that he has lots of leases that hold lots of hogs so they really are unpressured, e.g. out and about in the day and not just noctural. For example, it had been several months since he had been in the area we got the boar and the hogs were out there feeding at 3:30 pm.

The final piece of the Valentine’s day hog.

When we were up at VAFB http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/showthread.php/227675-Wounded-at-VAFB-with-Dancing-Dan I picked up the smoked ham the Ltdann made for us from the Valentine's day hog and who would have guessed it was to became the center of ‘family strife’. We gave a taste some to one of our daughters and friends last night while making Catalina venison steaks for dinner. Holy tarter sauce, Ham1.jpg it was a free for all as they tore into the poor thing; looked like piranhas going at it. The Admiral finally had to take it and wrap it up so they would eat the steaks that were on the grill. That ham is the best! Nothing like the slimy commercial hams – it is half way to prosciutto. Dan has posted somewhere on JHO details of how he does this - the result is amazing... Thanks Ltdann!

PS – I hate it when my food looks back at me.

(I hope this second photo isn’t “over the line” Jesse. If it is, just remove it. – AS)

TW1984d.jpg Ya Andy, Tom has been doing this for a while!! :thumbs up2: This is a shot of him after our hunt in 1984, 3 hogs that morning. Went again in 1998, 2 hogs in about 4 hours. Only took that long because the fog delayed us!

Too funny with that mustache. I printed the picture and sent it to Tom as a chuckle. I know how old he is so he has been at this about 35 years with what, at least 150 hogs a year (maybe more), that is well over 5000 hogs. No wonder if you blink, he has it gutted and skinned... One other guide I know said Tom's killed more pigs than Farmer John...

E.jpg Youngster would of been me at (14), I grew up a bit (42) and got alittle meaner, lol. Still love to hunt, just finding opportunities is harder. My thought is "work to hunt", and i take that pretty serious. I'll help anyone, do just about anything for a opportunity to hunt. And its also in that order, i'll work first to earn the priviledge. More old school and most people think i'm full of it but what ever! They end up loosing a chance at free labor and a good friend.............E.
