Update. Friday evening had perfect weather. Cooler temps with rain on the way. Spotted a very nice boar about a mile away around 5PM. Gathered our gear and took off down hill. Halfway there jumped a smaller boar. Long story short I was a second or two away from shooting it before it headed in the thick stuff never to be seen again. Eventually got to the location of the big boar and of course I couldn't find him again. Decided to head up over the hill to check one more ridge. Just before dark spotted several hogs cross canyon from us. We had to buggy to get into position before legal shoot time came. Hog was facing directly downhill and my uncle made a perfect 320 yard shot. I think we found the worst place on the ranch to kill a hog. Shot at 7:01, didn't get back to the truck until 11 ish, soaking wet a freezing. I'm guessing it was about 180lb sow. Old pig.
