The kid and I did a little warm-up hunt last Sunday to get ready for next weekend.

Bigtusker,

Give us the story. Tell us how it was hunting on the ranch. I have always wondered about this place and their exocits. Looks like you and your son had a great time.

I met Jim at his archery shop in Salinas, nice guy I thought, and he set my bow up with a lot of great stuff for a good deal.

However I've heard nothing but bad from the Old Timers here about his game ranch. Supposed to be like 10 miles south of Salinas or something. Well let us know how it goes, I almost went when I lived in Seaside but $400 for a high fence hog just didn't seem right.

We went and had a great time! I took my ten year old son and he took a nice spanish billy at 20 yards and a dall sheep at 16 with his bow. I wasn't sure about it before we went but I had a great time. It was all friends and their kids ranging in age from 8 to 12. All the kids got an animal or 2 and had lots of fun. There are tons of hogs on the property and lots of exotics. I'll have pictures later.

I like sheep but not too fond of goat. We gave ours to some locals.

Nice pictures. That "kid" (haha, get it) of yours is turning into a real dead eye with that bow. How long has he been shooting it?

I agree. Goat's will fight you even with a good pair of rubber boots.

He's been bow shooting for about 2 1/2 years now. Shooting a Darton bow at about 30 pounds, 90 grain first-cut broadheads. JCA is definitely not for everyone, but I thought it was a great place to take my boy and get him some real shooting.

I think you get a discount if you take your own feed can to shake. What a joke.

I assume your refering to your statement.

I know your not refering to the hunting experience of a young boy.
