Great Idea.....except you need to do it later in the year. First of all that's the hardest time of the year to call coyotes, but even more important is the fact you're going to be hunting them during denning season. If you enjoy hunting coyotes, let them have the pups so you'll have more to call in the fall. I always found Sept was a great month to call in Nevada, because all the pups are out running around and learning, some learn the hard way and that's what you want ....action and lots of it. Something for you to think about, your idea is a good one. More time would give folks a better chance to plan on it....Who knows, I could even show up lol.

I'd love to make a trip that direction this fall. Perhaps I can get a few guys to tag along with me from this area for a week end hunt.

I'm old alright Larrysogla lol, but the pro part is wrong. True, I hunted Nevada when it was a great place to hunt and I did it for many years. Won alot of competition hunts in the Silver state, I sure do miss it. I'd love to hunt it one more time like I use to do, just for old times sake. If this hunt happens I just may do that, it would be nice to met all you guys too.

You guys may want to post this idea in the JHO Events thread. A lot of the planned upcoming/future hunts are listed there and might get a bigger response. Just a thought.

Well, I'll try to make it. We're expecting a new baby boy in March and if I know my wife, my leash will be short.

LX,
I pasted this one from my reply on the ACCU-Trigger subject in case you didn't catch it:
Sounds like a plan. Let me get comfortable with my new rifle (arrives in 2-3 weeks) first, then maybe we can hook up. We got plenty of winter left. Have you heard of the Dixie Coyote Derby? Ever been? Evidently last year 2 guys from Utah won it under some suspicious circumstances...at least that's what the sore guys here said. I work at the Fallon Wal-Mart (name's Mark) in Sporting Goods so I hear allot. If I find out more (About the Derby) I'll let you know. I was looking at hunting a new spot southeast of Lahontan Reservoir on BLM land in Churchill County. Good "high" spots amidst bottom land at the eastern base of Camel Back/Red Mountains. Scouted it once already...looks promising. March (As you know) is the calfing month and there are typically 200 head "meadowed up" in the Russian Olive orchards between there and Diversion Dam. Need I say more? I know several other spots just a few miles outside of town and further east. Out here we don't even sweat "sweet spots"...they are all over and it's rough country for most. I can't wait for my new rifle.

I'm blessed... I don't have one... to speak of. She's a drunk and lives 1200 miles away...

the reason i didnt post this in the event ssection is because i was looking at getting ideals from all of you. i guess this is a pretty good response so far. i was just throwing a date out there how about late august or early september, i know deer season starts mid september for some. keep the ideals coming who, when, where, anfd then we can put it in the event forum for all to come out and injoy, ill even BAR B Q
