Rick (Westy's) 1st visit to FHL and he plugs a biggun. I'll let him tell the tale. Some guys hunt there for 10 year with no pig and he walks in and kabang. We were turkey hunting too but I wasn't about to let him double up on his first trip.
We also got to meet Rannie at the check in window. She was real nice and helpful. Here is Rick and Rannie in the skinning shed near the check in window.
I think ths pig was a Baby Huey pig. He had no tusks or fighting wounds and was hanging with momma. For his size and age he should have been a bit more beat up I would think.
I'm pushing 300 lbs and as you can see this pig was almost as big as me. It was a piece of cake moving all that meat around.
Seen this cougar track in area 16 down near the river on the east side of the area. Looked like a juvenile. Be careful around there.
This was the only pig taken as of noon Sunday. Rannie said there were a couple hogs taken each weekend usually. The hunting pressure was pretty light for a turkey opener.
