Fellas...

Some of you remember that I have an archery-only hunt date blocked out at Tejon for the first weekend of June 1-3. This is, first of all, just a reminder that this hunt is a possibility.

After the action we had this weekend I would love to have another go with the bow in hand. To do this, I need a handful more guys... 7 to 12 hard-core hunters who are ready to hit the brush and watch some waterholes (that'll be a key tactic in June).

I have the application packets ready to mail, if there's interest. Remember, this is a weekend-long hunt and the $400 cost includes lodging in the cabin, meals, and a Tejon Guide onsite to help us out. Ron Gayer (Elkron) spent a lot of time with us actually in the field on this last trip, and while I can't guarantee that we'll get that level of service every time, it's still an awesome opportunity to get out and stick a hog.

I can now speak from experience and say, it's one heck of deal, especially for you SoCal guys that find it tough to get all the way up to Chopper's place.

Hey Speck,

I am going to plan on this hunt as well. By then I should have my freezer cleaned out and ready for new meat.

If you're interested in participating, please send me an email with Tejon Archery Hunt in the subject line. I already have the application packets on-hand.

Think they'll give me a discount for only hunting 1.25 hours on the last trip??

Once I find out about surgery I may be in for this one assuming it is not full. If no surgery, the wing will be ready to roll by then. I got a score to settle with a few hogs

I dunno, Steve. We may not be able to spare a nursemaid to keep you from climbing up on rotten rocks.

Seriously, hope you are able to make it. You'd be more than welcome!

I might be up for this one. I haven't decided if I want to burn vacation time in may for the POR or just do the archery hunt again.

Hey Russ, do 'em both! The POR hunt is on a holiday weekend. Just extend your holiday right into the June hunt!

Not that I'm trying to encourage bad behavior or anything.

Boy, gotta hate when they do that! It's like a verbal frying pan upside the head, isn't it?

I'd say let's get you out there and kill a hog with your rifle if nothing else... then worry about the bow. But you have your own priorities, don't let me reset them.

Either way, it'll be good to hunt with you again.

Just a quick question...I can not make the June hunt for I have NWTF banquet to attend June 2, but sure would of liked to. Now for the question. It sounds like you all have a pretty close knit group which go on these hunts. It sounds like you have been hunting together for a long time. Do you let new people join in ? Sounds fun but being a new kid in a group can be scary..
