Morning all,
Next Friday I'm planning to talk with Barbara at Tejon about the possibility of having a JHP Pig Hunt at Tejon Ranch. Since we have so many participants this year, especially in the March hunt, Barbara has mentioned that we may have enough hunters to rate our own hunt.
Here's the deal, though. I'm pretty sure we'll need to have AT LEAST 25 hunters who can commit to signing up. That doesn't mean saying, "Yeah, I wanna go." and then bailing at the last minute due to whatever reason. Of course I'd like to gauge general interest as well, so do speak up. But remember that at least 25 people will have to be able to commit.
The cost is expected to be the same as the POR, about $300 per hunter, plus a $10 insurance fee. If you have already purchased the insurance for the current year, you don't have to buy it again. Insurance is good from January through December of the year you buy it.
There are more details I'll have to get from my discussion with Barbara, so until then I can't tell you much more.
That said, I'm also considering a date for this hunt. A lot of us are already kicking out our $300 to attend one of the regular PORs this year, so I'm wondering if we should even try to schedule one this spring/early summer, or if we should just try to plan for next year. That would be the earliest I could participate, myself, but if enough of you want to make it this year I'll be glad to get it scheduled.
As an added curiosity.... how many of you would be interested in an archery-only hunt at Tejon?
So, what say ye?
