Good luck on getting drawn for Joice Island. One advice, learn to walk through mud.

I have never hunted there, but I think a good tactic would be to shoot them while they think they are safe on the other side of the slough from you. I read that somewhere.

Good luck;

I have been there 2x. My son missed 2 pigs last year. A lot of pigs in this area but some hard to get to. You need t ohave good waders. Not sure how deep water is there now. Pigs swim back and forth the river. Saw most pigs right at dusk driving road. Just walk levies around ponds. There are 4 parking spaces. I recommend shoting shotgun at range to see where slugs hit. My son aimed a tiny bit high at 50 yds and shot right over top.

Oh man...When did you get the letter? I put in for that too.
I know a guy who has been successful there twice. He says to hunt from the dykes and you'll probably do good. Bring a wheelbarrow or some other rolling carrier like that to haul your pig back to the parking lot. One year he was done by 8:30 am after an hour of hunting.
